RoutineBuddies supports Apple Family Sharing. One subscription covers everyone in your Family group — each child can install the app on their own device with their own profile, avatar and routines, all under the same subscription. There is no extra cost.
To enable: make sure Family Sharing is set up in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Family Sharing. The Family organizer's purchases are automatically shared.
If your device is signed into iCloud, RoutineBuddies automatically backs up your child's profile, routines and session history to your own private iCloud (Apple CloudKit). It is not on our servers — we cannot see it.
This means if you reinstall the app or get a new device, your child's progress, level, BuddyBux balance and routines come back as soon as they sign in.
You can check sync status in Settings → iCloud sync.
We store your child's profile and routines on the device, optionally in your private iCloud. We do not run any servers, do not collect names, do not show ads, do not sell data. Anonymous analytics are entirely opt-in and parent-gated.
For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
If iCloud sync was enabled: your child's data stays in your iCloud and comes back when you reinstall. Nothing is lost.
If iCloud sync was off: data is stored only on the device, and uninstalling deletes it.
RoutineBuddies follows your iOS device language at first launch. To change later: Settings inside the app → Profile and icon → Language. Available in English, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, German, Dutch, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Japanese.
Start small. Three to five tasks for a morning routine is plenty. Use the templates inside the app (morning, homework, dinner, bedtime) as a starting point.
Set realistic minutes. If brushing teeth takes three minutes in real life, set three minutes — not one. The cake timer is most helpful when the time matches reality.
Add short pauses (called "Tiny break") between transitions if your child needs a moment to switch tasks.
If your child starts a routine up to 10 minutes before its scheduled start time, they earn a bonus of 150 BuddyBux plus a small random extra. The idea is to reward proactivity — kids with ADHD often struggle with getting going, so when they do, we celebrate it.
BuddyBux are the in-app currency your child earns by completing routines and tasks. They can be spent to unlock new Buddies (avatars) in the shop. There are no in-app purchases — BuddyBux can never be bought with real money.
Check that notification permissions are granted: iOS Settings → RoutineBuddies → Notifications. If "Allow Notifications" is off, turn it on.
Inside the app: Settings → Notifications and sound. Each of the four notification types (15 min before, 5 min before, routine start, come back) can be toggled separately.
If notifications are still missing, the most common cause is Focus mode (Do Not Disturb) silencing them. Time Sensitive notifications can be allowed in Focus mode settings.
Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us. To cancel: iOS Settings → Apple ID (your name at the top) → Subscriptions → RoutineBuddies → Cancel Subscription.
Your subscription stays active until the end of the current billing period. After that, the app falls back to read-only access (your data is preserved).
Refunds are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, find the RoutineBuddies purchase, and request a refund. We honor the 14-day Better Mornings Guarantee — if you cancel during the free trial, you are not charged.
Inside the app: Settings → iCloud sync. At the bottom of that screen, tap "Parental Controls". You'll be asked to solve a small math problem (the parent gate, so a child can't trigger this by accident). Then you get two steps:
After both steps, you can delete the app from your home screen and nothing will be left.
